...for the Military
UK Gear’s training shoes were originally designed in association with the Royal Army Physical Training Corps (RAPTC). These elite fitness professionals were closely involved in the development and tested our products in some of the most inhospitable conditions on Earth. Only when approved by the Military do we consider our products... Built to survive.
PT-03 - WO1 (SMI) C. MacDonald, APTC : Flora London Marathon 2005
>>27 April 2005As you are aware I have ordered a number of PT-O3 running shoes for various personnel within the Brigade HQ here in Tidworth. I have had nothing but positive feedback about the shoes from all those who ordered them.
This HQ trains a minimum of 3 times a week with myself being responsible for their training, varying from circuits, cross-country, road-miming etc. The shoes in my opinion are well up to the mark of other top brand shoes as they are both comfortable and light to wear for all types of training.
I felt so confident with the shoe that I decided to wear them in the "2005 Flora London Marathon". At the start of the run I began to wonder have I made the right decision? After 5 miles into the run the shoes gave me no problem whatsoever, but with 21 miles to go things may change… the distance involved of 26 miles is a long way if you don't get your personnel administration sorted leading up to the day of the event. If you don't get it right on the day, it's a long way to be in pain and possibly developing further injury.
The administration of the London Marathon, as you are probably aware is fantastic, with a number of drinks and first aid stands along the route, thankfully there was not a requirement for myself to visit the first aid stands. The main reason behind that is really down to the comfort and suitability of the PT-O3 running shoe.
I would like to give you all at UK GEAR a special thank you, for making my Marathon this year as comfortable as possible… there will be many more runs to follow!
Yours Sincerely
WO1 (SMI) C. MacDonald, APTC
HQ, 1st Mechanized Brigade
