...for the Military
UK Gear’s training shoes were originally designed in association with the Royal Army Physical Training Corps (RAPTC). These elite fitness professionals were closely involved in the development and tested our products in some of the most inhospitable conditions on Earth. Only when approved by the Military do we consider our products... Built to survive.

>>06 August 2008Me and my UK Gear Training Shoes
Me and my current love affair with a brand started on a wet Wednesday afternoon at Hohne Naafi. After being challenged to a game of squash by one of my colleagues, and failing to convince the wife to drop off my smelly squash shoes I simply had no choice but to acquire some more!!!
The only shoes available in the Naafi were the UK Gear GT-02 cross trainers. I had heard good reports about them and being in the sale thought they were worth some of my hard earned shilling. I arrived at my game to be told that I looked like a tart and that they would cripple me. After getting a good thrashing off him I contemplated where I went wrong. I am just rubbish. The shoes however had caused me no dramas at all gave plenty of grip, and due to the design of the sole changing direction was easy and sharp, the support in them was fabulous as well. I had been using a certain 'Japanese brand' before and these were as good for squash as those, but also gave me the benefit of being cross trainers. I have since used these shoes for circuits five a-side football, taking the kids swimming and cannot fault them in anyway at all. They will never have the wow factor of some of the big names but never judge a book by its cover!!
I have since been deployed to the Gulf and the beautiful wife has sent me out some PT-03’s. These were an urgent purchase as my famous 'Japanese brand' running shoes took a turn for the worse in the heat ie started melting!!! Once again Hohne Naafi supplied me. I have had these shoes for about a month now and I am giving them some serious Op Massive hammer. They are getting PT’d everyday and the cushioning and support is superb. Me being a forest gumper (need insoles, bandy legs and a not 100 per cent successful leg operation) and loitering around 14-15 stone, need all the help I can get and these shoes are really good. The things I really like are they feel solid underfoot yet seem to offer cushioning with it. The tread is super, and due to the antimicrobial treatment they don’t smell (keeping me very popular in the tent) I would have no dramas recommending these shoes to anyone. I have tried lots of the top brands but these really work for me. I will probably destroy the pair i’ve got in Iraq, but hopefully in the Naafi christmas sale the wife might get me some more!!!
