UK Gear launch two unique training shoes designed to withstand some of the world’s harshest environments.

Designed and developed in association with The British Army Physical Training Corps (APTC), the PT-03 DESERT survived final wear testing in the extreme heat of Afghanistan whilst the PT-03 WINTER was put through its paces in Norway. This ensured that they’re built to survive some of the world’s most extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions.

These unique shoes have now earned the right to bear the famous British Army ‘crossed swords’ insignia

The PT-03 DESERT is a tough, sandproof running shoe, specifically designed to endure the world’s most hot and arid environments. The shoe took over 12 months to develop with the APTC before going through final testing with the British Army in the harsh terrain of Afghanistan.

The PT-03 DESERT is built on a uniquely formulated midsole which delivers excellent durability and shock absorption in extreme heat. Featuring a tough sandproof upper with optional detachable gators both of which protect your feet and shoe from the environment. Together with a heat resistant gum outsole and a bio-flexible underfoot bruise plate, this shoe is designed to assist you run safely and comfortably in the hottest and most arid of environments and is ideal for Desert training.

The PT-03 DESERT running shoe has an optimal temperature range of +25 to +50°C (+77 to +122°F) making it ideal for desert training, which has been verified by UK Gear which is sponsored by Shoes and Allied Trade Research Association (SATRA) laboratory tests.

The PT-03 WINTER is a tough, waterproof running shoe, specifically designed to endure the world’s coldest and most inclement weather conditions. The shoe took over 12 months to develop with the APTC before going through final wear testing with the British Army in Norway.

The PT-03 WINTER is built on a uniquely formulated midsole which delivers excellent durability and shock absorption in wet and extreme low temperatures. Featuring a tough waterproof upper, which protects your feet and shoe from the environment. Together with an abrasion resistant cold-grip outsole and a bio-flexible underfoot bruise plate, this shoe is designed to assist you run safely and comfortably in the coldest and wettest of environments and is ideal for winter training.

The PT-03 WINTER running shoe has an optimal temperature range of -20 to +10°C (-4 to +50°F) making it ideal for winter training, which has been verified by UK Gear which is sponsored by Shoes and Allied Trade Research Association (SATRA) laboratory tests.

The PT-03 DESERT and PT-03 WINTER join a line up that already includes three training shoes designed and developed in association with The British Army.

In 2004 UK Gear launched the PT-03 SC, the world’s first commercial product to be developed in association with The British Army. The PT-03 NC and GT-02 soon followed, with each of the shoes becoming essential pieces of kit for military personnel across the world.

PT-03 DESERT and PT-03 WINTER shoes are now being distributed to Army Physical Training Corps instructors around the world and will join UK Gear’s range of performance shoes which are fast becoming the training shoe of choice for military personnel and true fitness consumers worldwide.
