...for the Military

UK Gear’s training shoes were originally designed in association with the Royal Army Physical Training Corps (RAPTC). These elite fitness professionals were closely involved in the development and tested our products in some of the most inhospitable conditions on Earth. Only when approved by the Military do we consider our products... Built to survive.

SGB Sports & Outdoor - PT-1000 review

SGB-Outdoor-Logo3.jpgUK Gear is set to steal a march on sports footwear with the launch of a new running and trail shoe expected to redefine the athletic shoe market.

The new PT-1000 has been designed to last 1,000 running miles and is thought to be the first of its kind on the market. Set to redefine the athletic shoe market, the PT-1000 features UK Gear’s Force Dynamic System technology, built on a foundation of proprietary compounds and materials, which has taken over 8 years to develop in conjunction with the Army Physical Training Corps (APTC).

The PT-1000 was rigorously tested by 40 of the British Army’s instructors who ran thousands of miles in prototypes and is the product of an on going research and development programme with the British military. Combined with an extensive durability test programme at SATRA laboratories, this underpins the company’s confidence in its 1,000 claim.

“The PT-1000 is the result of our long term strategy to build the world’s most durable and sustainable running shoe – without compromising on biomechanical performance or comfort,” UK Gear founder and CEO David Hinde commented. “Our unique relationship with the British Army has allowed us to test our products by some of the most demanding athletes in the country.”

Available in men’s and women’s sizes, the PT-1000 comes in a choice of structured cushioning – suited for runners with an average running gait and mild to moderate stability needs, and neutral cushioning, which gives maximum shock absorption and designed for the runner who does not need extra stability.

With a recommended retail price of £95, the PT-1000 is available in men’s Black/Chilli Pepper/Charcoal or Grey/Chilli Pepper/White/Black/Silver and women’s in Black/Chilli Pepper/Charcoal or Grey/Aqua/Black/Silver.
