Indespensible Company - The Best Trail Shoes of 2011

Brand: UK Gear
Model: PT - 1000 SC
Weight: 344 g (size 6.5 UK)
Price: € 120.00

British company UK Gear, has a long history in sports shoes. Their technology has been developed with help from the British Army and they have recently developed a way
to extend the life of a running shoe - whilst ensuring that the shoes reach the one-thousand mile mark. (1,600 kilometers, confirmed in UK forums).

The crux of the matter lies within the out sole of the shoe, where they have worked with carbon to lighten the shoe. The Structured Cushioning (SC) model has a hardness of the midsole which gives it more stability (focused pronator). The only discomfort felt was at the start of the trial, whereby there was a slight rub at the back of the heel.

Brand: UK Gear
Model: PT - 1000 NC
Weight: 309 g (UK size 6.5)
Price: € 120.00

The Neutral Cushioning (NC) version of the PT-1000, as mentioned in the descripton of the PT-1000 SC model, is ideal for running many miles.

Initially, there was a little rubbing to the malleolus area of the ankle.

The shoes natural habitat is the track and path, but is well balanced and can adapt well to more technical fields. The PT-1000 is light, and has a good tread with acceptable cushioning and flexibility to momentum. We could have done with a little more protection against the stones. It has good breathability.
